Correspondence, newspaper clippings, news releases, and radio and television scripts of the Committee for Conservative Government (CCG), a group organized to defeat the referenda 6 Nov. 1962 and 12 Nov. 1963 for a bond issue to construct a Richland County Civic Center complex. Columbia businessman A. Mason Gibbes and attorney Louis Wilson Ingram organized the group and succeeded in defeating the bond issues. Also includes political science research paper, 10 May 1963, by J. Eugene Klugh, "The Defeat of the Civic Center."
